Siblings

Someone wrote to me and mentioned that they would like to see a place where all the recipes are listed, so they don't have to go muddling through the posts in search of supreme yumminess. Thus, yesterday was spent staring at html code and creating a sibling blog Keen Things Recipes. If you take a glance at my side bar over there --->
you will see some new things, including a link to the Recipe Blog. See, if you just ask me nicely I will do all I can to make this world a Keen Place!

Your Daily Dose of Cool:

You Bars

Now *this* is a cool idea! You can make your own bar, whatever way you like. You choose among grains, nuts and seeds, fruits, sweeteners, protein powders and coverings, place the order and they will ship to you your treat. I wish more of life was like this, don't you?

Really wonderful colors! This site makes me smile, especially on a grey day. His use of high saturation really makes things POP!

Your Daily Dose of Wonderful Design:

Over 200 miles per gallon!!!

Colour Lovers
This site is great for web developers, and designers alike. I don't use the social functions of this site, but I use it as a go-to point for new color matches and themes. If you are interested in playing with color palettes and patterns, this is a keen spot to turn to.

Your Daily Inspiring Words:

The above acrylic painting is called
America’s Peace Campaign by Scott Bakal.

"Often people attempt to live their lives backwards:
They try to have more things, or more money,
in order to do more of what they want,
so they will be happier.
The way it actually works is the reverse:
You must first be who you really are,
then do what you need to do,
in order to have what you want."

Your Daily Dose of Wicked-Good Food:

Savory Mushroom Soup
serves two or three

1 box of baby portabella mushrooms (you may use any kind, but I prefer these)
1 32 oz. box of broth (veggie, beef or chicken)
2 meduim onions
2 cloves garlic
a few sprigs of fresh thyme (dried, if you must)
1/4 c olive oil
salt
pepper
8 oz of red wine (plonk is fine, but nice wine is better!)

Sautee the onions and garlic in the olive oil. When those are wilted
add the mushrooms and continue cooking until those have rendered
down, are soft and the liquid has emerged. Add the remaining ingredients,
cover and simmer for one hour. You may add more fluid if you feel so inclined.
