TGIF

What a roller coaster week this has been! The good news is that I have Emma dog for the weekend, which will be much fun and very comforting. I have been busy with parenting stuff, work and the aforementioned Dog Hunt. I have 2 Netflix movies to work through, too, so that will be entertaining.

Did I mention that my basement is wet? Um, yeah. Good thing I have a kick-ass Shop Vac.

I am hanging in there. Don't worry. I will be back up to speed next week.

Mythical 16th Century Disease Critters

'Long ago in Japan, human illness was commonly believed to be the work of tiny malevolent creatures inside the body. Harikikigaki, a book of medical knowledge written in 1568 by a now-unknown resident of Osaka, introduces 63 of these creepy-crawlies and describes how to fight them with acupuncture and herbal remedies."

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." - Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Computer and Pixar Animation Studio, commencement speech to graduating class of 2005 at Stanford University

Your Daily Dose of Wicked-Good Food:

Wilted Arugula and Ruby Red Grapefruit Salad (serves 4)

1 handful of arugula per person
1 ruby red grapefruit, segmented ( I used a knife and cut slices without membrane)
2 tablespoons walnut oil (olive is ok, too)
1 ripe avocado

Place oil in a pan and toss in the arugula and grapefruit. Toss until wilted and warmed. Place this on a plate and top with thin slices of avocado. Simple. Pretty. Tasty.
