Roasting

I have been doing a hell of a lot of woods-stomping the past few days. Lux is incredibly good in the woods off leash, and she runs like the wind. This morning a light snow is falling and the woods were magical. We crawled over streams and fallen trees, wandered through fields, shared an apple. We had a blast.

I have been following Wally for a while now, probably 3 years or so. I found him through Danny Gregory's sketch blog and Everyday Matters (Click here to learn more about Danny). I really enjoy his drawings of people in everyday situations. I wish I could draw better than I do, and while I know that some of it is about practice, some of it is about pure genius, which, apparently, Wally has in spades. He is a whacky guy with a really good eye. Both eyes, actually. I think.

Okay, so apparently I ain't the only one who is crazy for retro. I love looking at this stuff. I don't wear it. I don't decorate with it, I don't have oodles of sewing projects to use this stuff for, but it makes me HAPPY. Perhaps it is just a throw back to my childhood, and memories of sleeping in a sleeping bag with similar colors and designs at my friend, Rachel's house, listening to Donovan croon Jennifer Juniper ALL. NIGHT. LONG. Perhaps it is fond thoughts of the little jumpers my mom used to make when I was small. Perhaps it stems from my desire to actually design SOMEONE ELSES place with this stuff, I dunno. I jess wikes it, okay???
