Goodbye, Johnny

Jazz saxophonist Johnny Griffin passed away yesterday in his home in France. I am pleased to say that I was able to see him play in Cambridge at the Regatta Bar on my 30th birthday. I feel very grateful that I was able to see him before his passing, and also to have had the experience of seeing Ray Charles and Sarah Vaughn before they left this mortal coil as well.
